Founders Story

For most of my life, I was guiding rafting trips and surfing — traveling the world, chasing rivers, reading currents, moving with seasons. I was living in the moment and in my truck for two decades. While it wasn’t always glamorous by making certain sacrifices, I was free to explore this amazing planet. Under the adventure there was always something else I was chasing: a certain kind of beauty… a feeling… a sense of meaning I couldn’t quite name.

Everywhere I went I kept finding the same thing: culture that moved through color, through craft, through the everyday poetry of how people lived. The way cloth draped and flowed in a thousand forms. The way patterns carried memory. The way a garment could be both practical and sacred—something you could live in, and also become more yourself inside of.

I wanted a way to bring that back with me.

Not as souvenirs. Not as trend. But as something wearable—something that could hold story without needing to explain itself.

One day, while traveling in Nepal I decided on a whim to come to India. It wasn’t a master plan. It was instinct. And it changed everything.

In India, I met people from all over the world—artists, wanderers, seekers, makers. Somehow, designing clothes became the thread that tied us together. They brought me into the fold. They introduced me to trusted tailors. And what started as curiosity became collaboration… and then something deeper: friendships that have lasted to this day.

That’s where Yamuna was born: not in a boardroom, but in the wild, in the intersection of travel and craft—between the road and the workshop—between the urge to explore and the urge to create something that lasts.

Yamuna is a small-run line built from travel-sourced textiles and reimagined cloth—pieces shaped by what I find, what calls to me, and what feels honest to make. We work with small artisan workshops, keeping production human-scale, detail-focused, and rooted in respect. Each release comes in rhythm with what’s ready—not mass-produced, not rushed. Just made slowly, and meant to be worn for years.

Because I believe clothing can do something simple and powerful: it can lift you out of the mundane.

Yamuna aims to empower everyone involved—by bringing beauty from East to West, by providing livelihoods through ongoing collaboration, and designing garments that bring a little more meaning to the everyday. This is not “special occasion” clothing. This is the kind of piece you reach for on an ordinary day and suddenly the day feels different and intentional.

My life has always been drawn to the nomadic current. I feel, in some strange way, like a modern-day Silk Road merchant—moving between worlds, collecting inspiration from the elements: desert and ocean, dust and salt, heat and wind. Those contrasts live in the clothing—ease and edge, softness and strength, grounded tones and unexpected color.

At its heart, Yamuna is an offering: a bridge between places, people, and stories translated into garments you can actually live in.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for wearing the work. Yamuna is built one small run at a time, and every person who chooses a piece becomes part of the thread that makes it possible.
